Good Candidates for Botox Treatments
You are considered a potential candidate for Botox injections if you are 18 years or older. If you have wrinkles and creases around the eyes (crow’s feet), forehead, or mouth (laugh lines), Botox may be right for you. However, it is important that you have no history of neuromuscular disorders. If you are pregnant or nursing, you may be recommended to explore other options.
Your Consultation
A physical examination of your target areas will be performed during your consultation for Botox treatments. You will discuss your expectations and cosmetic goals. A review of your medical history will be undertaken to assess your risk factors. An individualized treatment plan will be developed to achieve the best results.
The Procedure
Local or topical anesthesia may be administered at the start of a Botox session to ensure patient comfort. The injection sites may be marked for precision.
Small amounts of Botox will then be injected into the target areas. There will be little to no discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the complexity of the treatment, it can take only 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Aftercare
There is no recovery or downtime needed after Botox injections. You can resume your normal activities right away. Avoid applying pressure or rubbing the treated areas to keep the Botox from spreading. There may be slight bruising or swelling at the injection sites; this should disappear quickly.
Keep upright and do not lie down for three to four hours after your injections. Avoid strenuous exercises and sports for the next 24 hours.
