Breast Enlargement Plastic Surgery
Have you always wanted larger, fuller breasts? If you are like many women, you may feel that your breasts are disproportionately small and out of balance with the rest of your body. Or maybe your breasts are slightly different sizes, creating a noticeable asymmetry. You can't control your genetics, but you can change your appearance through breast enlargement surgery.
Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. White will listen to your concerns and your hopes. She will discuss with you the various surgical options and the different implant types, shapes, and sizes now available. And since the FDA's recent approval of silicone gel implants, you are fortunate to have a choice between silicone and saline breast implants. After the surgery is done, your only complaint will be that you didn't have breast enlargement sooner. If you're like most women, you will feel more self-confident, sexier, and more attractive than ever before.
Breast Enlargement Procedure Information
Breast enlargement is done on an outpatient basis at the state-of-the-art Piper Outpatient Surgical Facility in Scottsdale under general anesthesia. A small incision is made under the breast or around the areola and a silicone or saline implant is inserted under the breast tissue or under the breast tissue and the underlying muscle.
You will go home in an Ace wrap. You will be seen in the office the following day and placed in an elastic bra which helps hold the breasts in the correct position. Initial discomfort is controlled with oral medication, and sutures are usually removed in 7 to 12 days. Light activities can be resumed as tolerated, but no heavy (greater than ten pounds) lifting or aerobic activity that elevates the heart rate should be performed for the first several weeks to minimize the chance of complications. Full activity is usually resumed by 4 to 6 weeks. Moving or sliding the implants within the breast pockets during the postoperative period may reduce the frequency of capsular contracture (formation of excess scar tissue around the implants).
Complementary Plastic Surgery Procedures
An additional procedure that would enhance the results of a breast augmentation is a Breast Lift if the breasts are also saggy, a condition that is common after pregnancy, breast feeding, weight loss, or a result of the aging process.
Breast enlargement is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance.
Breast Enlargement Surgery Risks
The specific risks and the suitability of breast enlargement can be determined only during your consultation with Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. White. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk, but major complications are unusual.
