Breast Lift Plastic Surgery

Unfortunately, our breasts do not maintain their youthfulness forever. As we age, women's breasts begin to sag as a result of gravity. Sagging breasts are also very common after pregnancy or breast feeding. Sometimes a breast lift alone will create the look you desire, but often a breast enlargement is performed along with a breast lift.

Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. White will help you decide on the type of surgery that is best for your particular needs. After a breast lift, your breasts will look more youthful and your nipples will be placed at the correct height. If you choose to combine breast enlargement with a breast lift, then your breasts will look fuller in addition to being perkier.

Breast Lift Procedure Information

Breast lift is done on an outpatient basis at the Piper Outpatient Surgical Facility in Scottsdale under general anesthesia. The design of the incisions include incisions around the pigmented area (the nipple areolar complex) and extend vertically below the nipple and sometimes also in the fold under the breast. The nipple areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position. The insertion of a breast implant may or may not be advisable, depending upon your preferences.

You will return home with light dressings and an Ace wrap over the incision lines. You will be seen in our office the following day and placed in a comfortable elastic bra. Sutures are usually completely removed within 7 to 10 days. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication, and light activities may be started in 7 to 10 days, with return to full activity in 4 to 6 weeks.

Breast lift is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance.
