Conveniently located to serve Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tucson
Getting rid of wrinkles without invasive surgery is now possible thanks to Botox in Scottsdale. We used to believe that wrinkles were as certain as death and taxes, but not any more. Botox® Cosmetic, the popular fix for celebrities and everyday people alike, is now accepted as a safe, effective treatment for wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines), and in the “crow’s feet” areas of the face.
Botox Cosmetic Information
Botox Cosmetic works by weakening the muscles that surround wrinkles so that the muscles relax and the overlying skin flattens. Unlike injectable fillers such as collagen and fat transfers that fill in wrinkles or depressions, Botox Cosmetic physically weakens the muscles so that the facial skin is smoothed, relaxed, and natural looking.
Dr. White’s highly trained, licensed aesthetician, Lynda Ludwig, R.N., performs the Botox injections, carefully selecting the precise area of injection for the best results possible. Because the paralysis of the facial muscles is temporary, re-injection is usually necessary within 3 to 10 months.
Good Candidates for Botox Treatments
You are considered a potential candidate for Botox injections if you are 18 years or older. If you have wrinkles and creases around the eyes (crow’s feet), forehead, or mouth (laugh lines), Botox may be right for you. However, it is important that you have no history of neuromuscular disorders. If you are pregnant or nursing, you may be recommended to explore other options.
A physical examination of your target areas will be performed during your consultation for Botox treatments. You will discuss your expectations and cosmetic goals. A review of your medical history will be undertaken to assess your risk factors. An individualized treatment plan will be developed to achieve the best results.
Local or topical anesthesia may be administered at the start of a Botox session to ensure patient comfort. The injection sites may be marked for precision.
Small amounts of Botox will then be injected into the target areas. There will be little to no discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the complexity of the treatment, it can take only 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Botox Cosmetic Injections
The specific risks and the suitability of Botox Cosmetic can be determined only at the time of your consultation with Scottsdale plastic surgeon Dr. White. All procedures have some degree of risk, but major complications are rare.

There is no recovery or downtime needed after Botox injections. You can resume your normal activities right away. Avoid applying pressure or rubbing the treated areas to keep the Botox from spreading. There may be slight bruising or swelling at the injection sites; this should disappear quickly.
Keep upright and do not lie down for three to four hours after your injections. Avoid strenuous exercises and sports for the next 24 hours.
Cost of Botox Treatments
The cost of your Botox injections depends on several factors, including the number of target areas. The overall price may also be affected by the anesthesia and the number of injections used to achieve your desired outcome.
